Mental Well-Being is possible:
My life was full of re-directions, I was a teacher in Africa before relocating to the USA. I had to change direction as I was not qualified with my certification from Africa to be a teacher in the USA. Which let to going to Graduate School to study Social Work. I obtained MSW, and LCSW.
Mental Health work started:
After that degree my interest in the mental health field was kindled. I worked for over a decade with Homeless veterans, assessing mental status, substance abuse issues, health issues and homelessness. I have assisted hundreds of homeless veterans enroll in substance abuse treatment programs, find independent housing or group living programs as needed. In my private practice as a psychotherapist working with hundreds of clients in my private practice, I came face to face with the reality of mental health issues and the attendant challenges and crises. I have had great success working with mentally ill clients and many have experienced healing for their body, soul and spirit.
Many found meaning for life and living.
